Ya! U can take up XLRI, CAT and other competitive exams conducted by respective states for managment programs.
Apart from IIM's U can opt for
1. Symbiosys Institute of Managenet
2. S.P Jain Institute of Management, Mumbai
3. Mahaveer Jain school of Management Studies, Bangalore
4. Baharthiar Institute of Management, Coimbatore......... to mention some

Coming to your question, As you have said IIM's (6 colleges) are the top one's in India.


Indian B-Schools.

CAT - Commom Admission Test ( 6 IIM's + 70 colleges)

XAT - XLRI Admission Test ( 3 XLRI colleges + 30 other colleges)

JMET - Joint Management Enterance Test ( IIT's + IIS's)

MAT - Management Aptitude Test ( 100+ colleges)

CAT is the most looked MBA enterance exam.

There are some other Good colleges who conduct separate exam for their intake.

I suggest you take up some job, gain technical experience because ur doin btech and then with experience do ur technical MBA which is more recognised.

u can go with Symbiosis or IIPM kind of institutes if there is no prob with money. better u search for the rankings of the universitites/colleges and places of location in the search engines.

i suggest u to study well since there are lot of openings in the it industry who needs freshers a lot and side by side do some value added courses which is more usefull to suceed in the career instead of doing mba .........
