1st, human have a sense of right or wrong, human have a nature to seek God, you can see all primitive human worshipped stone or tree, for what? if you say that it can happen through the process of evolution, then why another animals never evolve like monkeys do? Exception? By whom? And furthermore, no monkeys worshipped anything.
2nd, transition process. If it evolve, is it really that fast and all evolve at the same time? I don't see half humans and half monkeys, sure we got a bit info that says in a certain place live a half being, but we can't really trust the credibility of the info.
If human evolve from monkey.
3rd, if we evolve from monkey, surely not only monkeys evolve, but other creatures too. But so far, other animals didn't evolve into a smarter being like humans. And we even got a piece that they say a transition between frog and fish (or something like that), but unfortunately, no other proofs.
4th,we can do self monologue, we can do something, and then judge ourselves later with a different view. This is the paradox of humans. We can speak to ourselves, to be simple. Monkeys, or the 50:50 humans (if there is) can never do that. You can say that it is evolution, but this is too much complex things to evolve within a gazillion years.
Just because of the fact that our DNA's are 98% similar to the monkeys, it doesn't mean we're evolving from them.
On the contrary, if you believe that we're created, then it made much more sense, you can start by thinking, why am I created, and you'll get a lot of answers.
Just one more fact, the latest and most recent discoveries made in science have destroyed the whole foundation of evolution. We still know and accept evolution because it's taught in school textbook, it's so common, and the evolution has been so accepted by the society that it is hard to give something of the contrary (that's what I know so far)
I hope this answer can satisfy you.

People who believe the bible word for word have a hard time believing that humans and apes share a common ancestry. People who understand that the bible in it's translated form has many *mistakes* in it's translation, and is greatly open to interpretation, do not find it so hard to believe in evolution. It is possible to believe in both, but it's called being open-minded, which many "religious" people are not. The original language the bible was written in (Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek) is not directly translatable into English. EX: In Genesis when it states that things were created in a "day", the word "day" is not exactly correct and could actually mean weeks or years. This makes evolution much more possible in the religious sense.

P.S. I am agnostic but I find the whole Religion-Bible-God thing fascinating, like modern day Mythology!

Why are there still monkeys? The modern horse evolved from the proto horse none of which you see around today. Is human history too short to see evolution in action? What is evolving as we speak? What has disappeared and been replaced by another species? Evolution is a theory that just doesn't quite fit humans and monkeys.

yeah i guess our DNA isnt about 99% the same as a chimp's. and like someone said, we had the same ancestors, we didnt just one day starting walking and turn from chimps to humans. and there are plenty of fossil records and DNA trends that pretty much prove evolution. if humans were always humans, why have we found so many fossils of ape-like humans in transition states such as neandrethals? if you were well educated in the area evolution makes perfect sense, even the catholic church is starting to try to incorporate evolution into their beleifs by saying the creation story is a parable for millions of years

Be careful not to misstate evolution. Under no branch of evolutionary theory did "humans evolve from monkeys." Rather, evolution expounds on the concept of shared ancestry -- that humans and the other primates had a shared common ancestor, and that each branch of the tree evolved different traits to adapt to its environment.

Humans did not evolve from "monkeys". Man and ape descended from a common primate ancestor. Read a book.

What the hell is one of the last answerers on about?

AIDS is a primate disease which transmitted into humans..what do you think it is, some Liberal disease? Prick

To the asker, No, I accept where i came from. It makes alot more sense to say we came from Apes, considering we're almost identical on a genetic level...besides, just look at the Christian answerers on here, we've founds us some missing links!

Because that did not happen. God created us the way we are today. Even though I don't like it I have to know it for my test next week in Biology. You can't tell me that you think you came from a freaking monkey. Monkey's are and were monkey's and Humans are and were Humans!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ape evolved from man. Read your sacred scrolls a little closer.

"Beware the beast man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him; drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death."

Because liberals don't have any sense, they always have to come up with a "monkey story" for everything, including the origiin of man and the origin of AIDS. The "monkey stories" in both instance are absurd, and people with sense can recognize that.
