Tell her she's a big girl now and she has to pick a big girls' present and what she got for her 7th birthday was for little girls. This way you will make her feel all important and you can try and 'steer' her in the right direction?

Next Month is my daughters 8 birthday also.. I am Planning a Luau for her at the Inside Pool.. Birthday presents are hard for me too, because she has so much stuff in her room and probably own a third of a toy store. previous years I have taking her to the Build A Bear workshop and let her make a bear and get couple outfits. We have done the Trampoline, bikes, gameboy, playstation, TV and DVD even a portable DVD. Is she into photography? You could get her a camera.. My daughter loves taking pictures.. Is she a girly girl into dolls? You should order her a My Twinn.. Good Luck!! and Congratulations!!

Why not a mother/daughter adventure .. take her to the mall go shopping .. have a experience at a beauty salon, by getting her hair and nails done. Allow her to pick out some clothes, maybe a toy .. and just really cherish the moment. They grow up fast..

Let her choose a couple of friends and take them for pizza, then the cinema or maybe bowling ... then let the friends sleep over.

Shouldn't be too expensive but will make a change for her.

PS: You don't look old enough to have an 8 year old! Are you sure she's not your sister? lol

8 is a really easy age to buy for. She can't have all the movies. Then there is movie passes, video games and stuff.

Does she have an mp3?

Give her your time. Make her a book of vouchers for things you can do together. Goto the park, shops, for coffee, to a pizza place. Kids want your love and time much more than things.

Take her to Alton Towers with her friends. The best presents are experiences.

1000-piece jigsaw puzzle. this could make her think and you can spend some quality time with her by doing the puzzle together.
