Is there any way I can get it dropped or keep it off my insurance. It's not the money of the ticket, which hurts, but the effect on my insurance I'm concerned about. I have no other tickets. Anyone with experience with this?

Thank you. :)

show up in court on your court date and talk with the D.A. about your case and usually they will reduce the points. they will usually do this if you plead guilty to a lesser charge, maybe something like failure to follow signaling sign

if no one was hurt, there wasn't any accident, etc. then it will not affect your insurance too much. you can always take a driver safety course and get a discount on your car insurance.

Not sure where you are, but in some courts if you plead guilty they will reduce the charge. Not sure what is lower than an improper turn though. If you're found guility of this or a lesser charge it will be on your record, so eventually your insurance will find out.
Your only other option is to plead not guilty and actually testify and try to beat it. But you lose your chance to get it dropped to a lesser charge, and you'd probably need a witness or other evidence to show your innocence.

Sorry!

Many jurisdictions have a "driver safety course" alternative - if you complete it the charge for a minor traffic offense is dropped.

The Court Clerk can tell you if this alternative is available.

Also, it is unlikely that your insurance premium will go up for one minor offense. Most policies require three moving violations within a specific period of time - like 3 years. Call your insurance company - I bet they get this question all the time. It might even be on their website, and that keeps you totally anonymous.

Good question - keep safe
