I'll have to doublecheck, but I think the mom is alive before birth. Maybe the dad too, but I'm not sure.

Is there life after birth? One has to wonder if the act of appearing in this world is death from the spiritual realm for avery short temporary swim in the waters of the mortal only to be reborn at death as a new spirit.

if you are talking about in the womb, I believe that if a child was born at the age of gestation it is in and has a chance to survive without problems then that is considered a child...but If that future child is aborted (natural or artificial means) and there is no possible way of survival out of womb then that is not considered a child and not a reason to protest abortion clinics/hospital etc. Of course I also believe abortion should not be used as a form of birth control either!

if you really want to know that question for your self then go and read the KING JAMES VER. BIBLE, because that tell all what ever you want to know. from what the bible say no there is not life before birth, but if been baptiz and filled with God sprit with the evidents of speaking in tongue then you will have life with God after you die. But if you got God sprit you don't die you just rest and waiting on God to rapture you up to heaven with him.

Yes, it's just a matter as to whether or not that life is self-aware or not. I mean, a tumor is alive; cancer is alive; viruses are alive. Few dispute that matter. It's a matter of if that life is self aware, that is capable of knowing it exists that is a question for philosophers and religious scholars. And frankly, I'm not smart enough to answer that!

Your question is a little vague and it depends what you mean by the question. I will give you two answers to your question.
(1) The bible teaches us that we exist before we come to earth. God says "I knew you before you were born".
(2) Human life exists when cells start multiplying, this happens soon after conception.

There is for the mother! I rember having one befofe I had my child.

However, I suspect you mean for the child. presumably foetuses are alive as they move, eat etc inside the mnother, and grow etc. It's just a different kind of life, a pre-world, pre-natal wonderland of comfort.
