Like others have said I don't like it because it's illegal. One more thing I don't like about it is that my wife is a legal immigrant and we had to go through a lot to get her over here. So I don't think much of people cheating their way in, and I think that it also makes it harder for the immigrants who try to come here legally. My mother-in-law got a visa to come here for a visit last year, but we were hoping a friend of my wife's could accompany her since she (my m-i-l) is almost 80 and could have used the hope. They would not give our friend the visa because they were (apparently) scared she'd come over here and refuse to go back home. So this meant for a more stressful trip for my mother in law, more worries for my wife, etc.
ANd how could I forget, when my wife first came here (under a fiance visa) it took forever for her to get permission to leave the country (to go home and plan our church wedding). She didn't finally get approval to leave until 3 weeks before the big date and I doubt if a CIS being so watchful for potential abuse of the system helped that situation either.

Why would you think that African Americans would feel differently than other Americans that don't like illegals? They are Americans by birth not by papers. They are no different that others in the US that see a problem with another country invading their home. Some of the answer's you received seem to think they should support illegals because they have something in common ,what may I ask do African Americans have in common with millions of illegal criminals.Nothing! I'm sure some support them but not because they are illegal, but there are many that do not support the illegals. There are also a great many legal Americans of Mexican heritage that do not support illegals in any way.

Why only for African Americans? I'm against illegal immigration because its illegal. I'm against people abusing our resources and not paying taxes. It has not affected me directly so far but I'm sure as more and more illegals come, the area I live in will be negatively affected like other places.

I'm against illegal immigration, because it's illegal, and I believe that it effects us the most. Point blank.

We have a wonderful talk show host, with a quirky sense of humor here in Utah...
Go on line and look up kyal2k.com and see what he has to say. He's bright, articulate, and tells it like it is....he wants his people (on the black side of his heritage) to rise above the rhetoric and stand on their own feet..... He tells the white man (the other side of his heritage) that "you've been conditioned to apologize for everything! STOP IT!"
I actually met him at a Utah Minutemen Protest when Vicente Fox came to shmooze our very weak governor....Kyal is going places........
