If you did indeed win something, the sponsor would normally give you a call personally. So, I reckon a call would be much safer to trust than an email.

No. It is a popular scam to get you to pay "expenses or taxes related to transfer." If you pay them you can kiss your funds goodbye.

yea, its a scam... you win $800,000 by donating $1,000... or sometimes more... dont fall for it.
