Because they taste good, you will end up take more than you should. This is tru for things such as Sugar, when you take too much of it, you body may not be able to absorb all of it and in the end you might become diabetic.
I doubt salt could be taken in excess because a pinch goes a long way and it has healing properties.
For the fats, I am sure you know what they do when taken in excess. You become fat and your motr competences will not be as what you would expect from someone who is not fat.
Everything taken in excess will be bad, so do it in moderation...

I can explain our sugary liking, but not for salty or fatty things.
Basically, in the days before food processing and so on and so forth, man used to have to take things from the wild to eat. We became accustomed to eating things that were sweet, because usually, anything with a bitter taste suggested poison, and we became averted to it. So we therefore developed an evolved liking for the things that, in those days, would have kept us alive. The more sweet the food, the more alive the human.
However, i guess these days, (especially in america) we tend to overdo it, because we like it so much. Give it a few thousand years. I'm sure we'll all be weaned back onto the bitter things in no time.

It's due to thousands of years of evolution. Food used to not be nearly as plentiful as it is now, and those people who survived are those who had a greater desire for fatty foods. This is because those who ate fattier foods gained a greater amount of weight, so when the lean times hit they had reserves to live off of. Also, salt is a necessary part of our diet, just not to the extent that we consume it. But salt wasn't always readily available either, and those who craved it and sought it out were in generally better health than those who didn't have access to it or those who didn't desire it.
Nowadays, all of these yummy things are ready for us to eat whenever we want them, and we overindulge because thousands of years of evolution is telling us that these things are good for us.

My chiropractor says that the body becomes allergic to these things and therefore even thou they are bad for you they are on your top 10 list. If you like milk, he says, it isn't good for you and so on. So pick something you absolutely hate like broccolli and guess what it is perfect for you, whatever.............

They are good for you if taken sparingly when you are healthy. When you are sick then they could kill you.
