First of all, I would like to ask why you were looking in the first place. Second, it shouldn't matter. Bodies react to different situations. Laughing would only cause you to lose your best friend. I have a lot of friends who are guys and this happens when they least expect it.

this happened to me a party i chatting up some drunk girl got an erection and next thing i knew one of my freinds ask to sit on my lap and she start griding. well needless to say she was drunk but it realy ruined my chances with the other girl.
