I'm teaching English in Mexico and want to give my students some British terms. What do you call a:
shopping mall,
shopping centre,
large builders supply store?
I am British, but they didn't have these things when I was there.

Ok, heres some words mate :)

We have Shopping Centres, instead of Malls
Supply stores are called either DIY stores, or Hardware stores

I think what you mean by a shopping 'centre', we call a department store..as in, one big building run by one company with lots of little 'bits' in it..a bit like Selfridges

How does that help my man?

Just show them pics or slide show about the shopping mall, centre, to know the word meaning.
