Every motor has a duty cycle which is the amount of time it can spend doing work before it breaks down and has to be replaced. The "max use per day limit" is a function of the duty cycle and is the limit to which you can use it in order to expect the product to function up to the guarantee the manufacturer gave you. The other component is the dispersion of heat generated by the motor which is also part of the duty cycle.
You can get $20 shredders that only run a couple times per day to $3000 shredders that are used continuously all day long.
