Having a mistress has along and Honourable pedigree especially in countries like France and generally among people who can afford it.
It makes for a well balanced, satisfying sex life.
A mistress is for recreation and pleasure. A wife is for different things altogether.
Perhaps it a bit like the difference between a plumber and a gardener, both providing essential services to keep things in good running order.
Casual extramarital relationships are not of the same nature. Not that I'm knocking casual extramarital relationships.
Good topic, wish I had a mistress to discuss it with. Only people of low intellect could possibly think its a moral issue.

Is it not hard enough to keep one woman happy? Why would any man try to keep two happy at the same time? Surely it can only end in neither being happy and tears all around? And lets not forget that there is a money issue: if he has a wife and children to feed and clothe where does he get the money to spend on a mistress?

The most common problem with having a mistress is that you could end up falling in love with this girl. If that happens then you need to make a choice. That choice could cost you your family, children, respect in the community, money, etc.
What if the mistress gets pregnant? What if she gets an STD from another man and you take that to your wife? What if people you know find out about her?
The idea of a mistress sounds good, but please think about the consequences first. Best of luck to you.

The word mistress is associated to deceipt, unfaithful, lie, and whatever is bad. Personally I wouldnt go for a mistress type thing if I have my wife! If am not happy with her, i'll surely tell her what is lacking, but if even that I am not getting what I want from her, then probably i will look for that in someone else, but with her knowledge!

Well I've always wanted a mistress because usually I don't get enough and there's things I'd like to do to a woman that I haven't done before. So would you please keep me happy and let me use your body whenever I want to, I think I can keep you happy too!

I had an affair once ... far too demanding! If you're not trying to keep your wife happy and stop her finding out, you're busy keeping your mistress happy and stopping her from telling your wife! If you have the energy left after that, you spend time trying to make sure no-one else finds out about it!
She looked good but the sex was no good ... maybe I was trying too hard to impress her - and she didn't like oral anyway!

depends on your moral outlook of life, but, for sure, mistress = bad news. When you are in a beautiful, loving, caring relationship, why do you need someone else? I know as a guy, that sounds pretty lame, cos I think you can be attracted to many women. Bottom line, though, is you chose to be committed to the one you marry!
Hard, but you gotta try.
I say this as someone who is NOT married, but who has been deeply attracted to women both younger and older than me...including married women!!;-) Last year, I can positively say I had a MAJOR crush on my married lady friend, who enjoyed my company a great deal...

I have been the other woman and in my experience it normally keeps the marriage stronger and the man uses the mistress for what is missing in a relationship!

Mistress's are a bad idea, it means that you are untrustworthy. If your swingers then that's fine but if you "need" to do it because your marriage is incomplete then you shouldn't be in that marriage. If your not telling the truth to someone you love then it means that you know they would not want it to happen and if they knew the truth not only would it hurt them but that person would probably not want to be with them.
Ignorance is bliss, but true love is when you know everything about someone and you still love them. So if you want someone to love you then they need to be in on it and accepting of it.

I don't need to think about that cause my wife likes chicks and we occasionally swing. I do think that a person shouldn't have a mistress if they are married. If you are going to do that, than why get married?
