I saw someone ask for a definition of atheist and thought it might be interesting to see what everyone's definition of Christian was as well.

Christian means to be Christ like. To be different from this world. Come out from among them and be ye seperate saith the Lord. But notice in the bible they were first called Christians at antioch. Everyone says they are a Christian well I think thats for others to see. Others should seee Christ through our lives and if they see Christ then they will see we are Christians. We dont have to tell someone. Let you light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.

I see a lot of wrong answers here and I'm not surprised because of the way people act these days.
A Christian is not only someone who believes that Jesus is the Christ, but someone who follows Jesus' teachings and his example. Someone who tries to lead a clean moral life like Jesus.
Most people who proclaim that they are Christian will talk the talk but they will not walk the walk. That is what makes a true Christian.

A Christian is a Christian because he (too many words to do he/she all the time, give me a break!), chose to go God's way instead of his own way. The center of the faith in Jesus Christ, who is God who came 'to strike a tent of human flesh' and became the kinsman Redeemer for all mankind. A Christian will believe that Jesus was the Son of God, and the Word of God, beofre He became Jesus. He is the same essence of God. He is God and man at the same time.
The True Christian Lifestyle is one of dedication. I've already mentioned that we've turned from our own way, and have turned to Him for direction to discover His way. We are guided by His word, and His Spirit. Because the Spirit of God, the same one that raised Jesus from the dead, dwells in us, and we become New Creations in Christ Jesus. We have the "old man", sin in us, and at the same time the Holy Spirit. The two are at war with eachother in our bodies. The more we exercise our faith, the more the Holy Spirit will work in us. We begin to change and it starts appearing on the outside by our behavior. It does not mean that we live clean lives, but it does give evidence of the direction that God is sending us in.
A Christian is someone who values all that I have written about, and endures hardships with the idea, " God's word says it, and I am going to defy the circumstances and believe God." Faith is active in this kind of Christian.
So it's not, "How clean am I?" It's "Thus saith the word of the Lord."

My defination of a Christain is some who believes that jesus is the Son Of the Living God and believe that He died on the cross for our sin and was raised from the dear in three days. Some one who has been to hell and back and came to the realization that they were not going to make it with out God himself. Konowing that what ever thay will go through after they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior that what ever the go through that he will never leave them nor Forsake them and will keep them even though they don't wanna some times be kept and will give the peace that passes all understanding! Some one who accepts Christ into their heart and develpo a relationship and a desire to grow in Him!

Someone without any reasonable intelligence, looks down on others, is judgmental, ignorant of modern science, pathetically low self-esteem, a need to lord their power over others, who has a pathological need to be a part of the herd.
A Christian is the lowest order of human, a severely mentally ill neanderthal who would rather see us all dead than allow anyone the choice to believe differently than they do.
A Christian is a blight upon the history of humankind. A disease that no one has bothered to cure, despite having both the knowledge and the technology to utterly eradicate this poisonous filth from the Earth.

A true Christian is one that has turned their back on their sinful lifestyle and has asked God for forgivness by placing their salvation in what Christ has done on the cross. They must also make Jesus #1 in their life. This is what it means in Romans 10: 9, when it says to confess Christ as Lord. The word confess means: to same the same as. If I am saying the same as you, I am agreeing with you...right? The word Lord means full authority. So, if a person confesses that Christ is Lord, they are agreeing that He is the boss of their life. The question I have for you is this: Are you a true Christian?

My definition--which differs from most, if not all, other Christians--is acknowledging the fact that Jesus lived a holy lifestyle (at least according to the Gospels) and attempting to be more like Jesus in any way. That being said, I call myself a Christian--even though I'm not sure if God exists or if Jesus ever truly lived.

Believe in a Creator of everything
Believe in his Son who died for the sins of man
Accepts his Son Jesus the Christ
Studies the bible Chapter by Chapter and Verse by Verse
(study) taking the word back to the original text, and gaining the deeper meaning to the word.
