It is your job to tell them about him. It may be a testimony or a conversation about something small and you quote a scripture. You don't have to beat people over the head with the a bible. You just need to talk about him like he was just any other person. You know he is real and unless you say what he has done for you others may not know him and may want to get to know him

It is the responsibility of ALL Christians to spread the Good News. Some by word, some by example. Best by both. "For not all who call me Lord will be saved. For there will be false prophets." Faith without deeds is dead. If you say one thing and live a lie, you are not spreading the word.

Billy F, It is the responsibility of all who have faith to spread the "Good News" of God's Kingdom and how to serve God appropriately and the benefits that are given His followers. Some people feel that a select few such as Pastors, Popes and such are the messengers. In the Bible, Jesus did not tell the masses to come to church and he'd discuss what is expected of them.
He went to the masses. They sought Him out and would "find" Him in various places such as Mount Si'nai. But basically, He was doing (a living example) what was asked of all of us. He made the disciples through teaching them what God wanted us all to know and told them to do His (God's) bidding.
Today, Churches have devolved our Christian experience and understanding of Christianity, because those who operatre these churches have found a way through misrepresentation (tithes) to extract money from those seeking the truth.
If they were honestly teaching the truth, they would pick up their torture stake, as the Bilbe says and faithfully serve God. But it is easier for them in a capitalist society to serve Satan, by teaching everything but what God wants us to know. Instead of teaching the masses how to put His Word into Action they subvert it with useless symbolic duties (taking communion), knowing that was only for those chosen to serve in Heaven.
In a nutshell, it is our job, but we must first learn the Gospel, put it into action in our lives so that we may be Lights of the World, serving Him as a Living, Loving example of His Word at work in our Lives.

You don't really have to mention Lord. I f you have your Ethics in, you may spread what you feel being the word. There's no good or evil ; there is what -at a given time- helps surviving and what not. you are the one who judges everything in life, wether you know it or not. In ancient Greece used to say : Ask Athina for help, but roll on your sleeves too! Be well!
Ciao....John-John.

This response is to the Christian Community at large and not necessarily to the questioner specifically. This is a very good question and I thank the asker for the opportunity to respond. I do not speak these things to accuse you, but I speak them that you may repent.
It's the Christian's job & It's very Important; unfortunately too many Christian's Keep letting their devil get them side tracked by issues such as...
1: Hatefully accusing everyone and their brother of practicing false religion when the Bible clearly teaches to go forth in love and set an example for Christ.
2. Worrying more about rather or not someone has heard the word then rather or not they have eaten, or have a home etc. so they can be alive to hear the word. Dose the dividing of the sheep from the goats ring any bells?
3. Concerning themselves rather or not someone is the same denomination as them. Some how I recall that there is the teaching against sectarianism in the Bible.
4. Wasting time raving about how we are in the last days, as if Jesus came to spread sadism. when the Bible repeatedly says to not concern yourselves with this issue and pay no attention to those who make it an issue.
5. Teaching satan rather than Christ. Have you ever thought that, with the way he is, he just loves all the attention you give him? It is written "a man cannot serve two masters for he will love one and hate the other."
6. Condemning others for their sins rather than examining your self, and repenting, so that you may grow in Christ. Do not condemn the "sinner" for it is written "there is none righteous no not one for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"
7. Accusing people who heal through magick, psychic abilities, and other spiritual methods of having pacts with the devil. As I recall the Pharisees accused Jesus himself of this and he told them that such things cannot be done but by the Holy Spirit and that a house divided cannot stand. Dose the phrase "Satan cannot drive out satan." ring any bells?
8. Not believing in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit when this is the major subject of 1st Corinthians; then blasphemously explaining away your lack of faith by saying God doesn't do miracles anymore when the Bible clearly says "I am the same yesterday, today, and forever."
9. Self righteously proclaiming your selves to be Christian rather then for the edification of Christ. Do not be proud of your salvation for you have been drawn from the gutters of despair.
10. Idolatrously worshiping the Bible and Denominational Doctrine, proclaiming it to be God's word as you use it to craft God into your own image: No idol carved in stone is so false then the idol that has been carved in the heart. Put your faith in the Spirit of the Lord not in things that you can hold in your hand for it is written "The letter of the Law brings death but the Spirit of the Law brings life."
11. Proclaiming that God no longer sends prophets when he has sent you many to set an example for you as you explain them away as being "just nice people." Was Mother Teresa just a nice person when she proclaimed God's word through her work? The true witness of Jesus Christ comes from the one who lives God's word.
12. Dividing your Churches by gossip, drama, using church positions for community status, and allowing members to abuse positions of authority.
13. Arguing over trivial matters such as evolution.
14. Allowing false witnesses to profit from the Gospel as they get rich from false testimony.
Has it never occurred to you that when you do these things that you are witnessing for the wrong side?

Depends on which religion you belong to. Roman Catholics believe it is the job of the Church for example.

"Whose job is it to spread the Gospel & how imporatant is it to spread God's word?"
This is total rhetoric! Religion is FAITH based, and so only believers would worry about "spreading" ANY word.
