Well, self esteem comes from yourself. It's very difficult. You really have to look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are pretty and smart. You have to say this out loud, then you will believe it.
It helps greatly if someone tells you that you are pretty and smart or whatever quality that you feel you want. It helps if they tell you why they feel you are pretty and smart or whatever... This way, you can focus on those aspects when you are thinking and self-talking.
DO NOT EVER tell yourself that you are stupid, or fat, or ugly or lazy or anything negative. No one should do this. And if anyone tells you that you are any of these things. Dump him. Because he is just trying to bring you down to his level. He needs to work on his self-confidence. Once he is self confident, he will start complimenting.
It just the way it works.
I've taken some sales seminars and heard some seft help tapes, read some books. They all say the same thing. So I tried it. It made such a difference in the way I look at myself and the way I LET other people talk to me or interact with me. It makes it really easy to walk away from someone that it bringing you down. Because you begin to realize your SELF-WORTH.
I could ramble on and on, but I really hate it when people put long winded answers on here....
REMEMBER-- you are THE BEST!!
