yeah all the time when i was telling the truth about my sister pulling my hair. So when i was 7 and saw a hit and run and took the number plate down and a full description of the driver i didn't tell. What a good girl i was!

we were not encouraged, to tell tales
about our sisters or our friends ;. whether they were true or not .
My parents were strict and did not listen, to "tittle"tattle"
whether they believed or disbelieved ,made no difference .
we were not allowed, to point the finger of blame on anybody .
and that was that .
we still had a happy childhood , just the same .
BUT telling tales were, just NOT ALLOWED

My dad used to ask me "Do you get up early and practice??" I didnt of course and at that age this comment used to confuse me as i didnt get what he meant!
