Expect to pay anywhere between $700-$1000 for a root canal on a molar. This is the most difficult place to do a root canal at, due to being far back in the mouth and you never know how many canals are going to be in there. Also, you'll NEED to have a crown done on this tooth after the root canal is complete. Once the nerve is removed, the tooth becomes dry & brittle, making it more likely to break. If no crown is put on and the tooth breaks, it make break in a way that the tooth can't be saved and no one wants to put that much money into a tooth and have to have it removed.

It varies by city and by dentist. If you go to a general dentist it will cost a little less than to a specialist (endodontist). For a molar it can start around 600, but sometimes can easily be 1000. But then you will also need a filling and/or crown and that will also rack up.
Get your dentist to examine you and their office will sit down and discuss all the fees and payment options. Good luck!

It depends on how fancy the waiting room is and if the dentist is still paying on his vacation house.

I've paid $600.00 to $900.00 depending on those factors and "how complicated" the procedure was.

The worst part for me was that in two out of three root canals, they didn't "take" and had to be "re-treated." Again, those two didn't "take" so now I have crowns and bridges. I've paid about $4,500.00 for one tooth to be fixed...it's a crap shoot.
