The best sangria recipe is from Cha Cha Cha restaurant in San Francisco and it is insanely easy!
1 bottle of white wine
1 bottle of red wine (don't use the expensive stuff!)
1 cup of sugar
Slice one whole orange and one whole lemon
Stir all ingredients together, place in refrigerator and let it sit over night! You can also add whatever other types of fruit that you like-apples and pears work well.
Lace with a little brandy or whatever other liquor-I like it without. My friends beg me to make this stuff! Enjoy!

Basically, I just get a bottle of cheapish red wine, no point in wasting a ten pound bottle on Sangria. Add the best part of a carton of orange juice, a large glug of brandy, and chopped fresh fruit. A few sprigs of mint wouldn't go amiss either. Add loads of ice, and sugar to taste. Who cares about the exact measurement when you make this? Whenever I make it it's usually after a few drinks at a party already, so it's bucket cocktails at it's best. Always works for me.

Red wine sangria recipe

Ingredients for 4 persons:
1 bottle of chilled medium to good quality red wine
½ cup of sugar (may vary depending on sweet tooth ! )
1 can of an orange fizzy drink
1 can of a lemon fizzy drink
3 pieces of different fruits ( cut in wedges or chunks-it is not necessary to peel them)
1 tray of ice cubes.
Pour the bottle of red wine into a ceramic pitcher and stir in the sugar with the wooden spoon. Then add the ingredients in the order they are listed and stir again. The pieces of fruit are delicious for dessert, too.

Here is a recipe that I found in my bartender's guide so hope it helps! Hic!
Ingredients:
6 oranges peeled and diced
juice of 3 lemons
2 3/4 oz of rum or cognac
7 oz Malaga wine or Madeira
1/2 cup of sugar
3 bottles of red wine
1 1/2 bottles sparkling mineral water

Mix together the first 5 ingredients in a punch bowl then cover and refrigerate for about 1 hour. Add the red wine and mineral water just before serving.

Makes about 10 servings so hope it goes OK! Happy drinking!!

1 Litre of red wine
2 oranges (juice - "naranjas de zumo")
4 peaches, cut into small pieces
5 desert spoons sugar
2 pieces of lemon skin

Steps:

1: Choose a red wine - Sangria is a refreshing drink and you don't need to use a vintage wine. We recommend a reasonably priced wine from Jumilla, Alicante or Valencia..... Put the wine into a jug, add the sugar, and stir until it is properly dissolved.

2: Squeeze the two oranges, and add the juice to the jug. Save a slice of orange skin to decorate.

3: Wash the peaches, peel them and cut them into small quarters (e.g. six per peach). Add them to the jug. If it is not Summer, you can use any other in-season fruit.

4: Put the jug into the fridge. Sangría should always be served chilled. If you want to reduce the alchohol concentration, add icecubes and slices of lemon. If you want to increase the alcohol concentration, add a small amount of cognac or rum.

A little hint is to get some frozen fruit from your grocery store and throw that in there. Not only does it make it taste better, it also acts as ice too.
