I planned a vacation in Puerto Rico on September 22-17. Do I need to worry about hurricanes in that interval? Is there a good website for this kind of info?

I should have mentioned that weather.com and Weather channel do not provide me the info I need. For example, I can't find the water temperature, when planning to go to the beach etc. Or if I know that in most of the years there are hurricanes during the last week of September, I would rather go somewhere else, like California.

I HAVE BEEN VACATIONING EVERY SEPTEMBER FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS. IN FACT I LEAVE FOR THIS YEARS TRIP ON 9/14 AND DO NOT COME BACK UNTIL 10/03. WE FIND THE WEATHER TO BE ALMOST PERFECT....HOT SUNNY DAYS BETWEEN 85 - 95 F -----AND A WATER TEMP AT AROUND 85 F. ALONG WITH QUICK AFTERNOON SHOWERS OR STORMS. EVERY WEATHER FORECAST FOR PUERTO RICO WILL CALL FOR RAIN EVERYDAY. AS IT DOES...SOMEWHERE ON THE ISLAND. FEEL FREE TO E-MAIL ME DIRECTLY IF YOU WANT ANY INFO ON PR.

Honestly the weather in a tropical island is more unpredictable than TEXAS weather, and that means a lot! I would not worry for hurricanes, we've been very lucky and blessed for not having one in a couple of years. The water is warm because we are still in Summer or beginning of Fall. So I wouldn't worry for the water temperature unless it's raining. Another thing, in PR it can rain in the West coast, while there is a sunny day on the East coast. You can try to visit www.gotopuertorico.com for more information. Enjoy your trip!

Try this link, I know it is a spanish website, but is the only one with the thermal info. Where it says Sensacion termica that's the water temperature. Once you open the link click on San Juan, PR. http://www.zonadeltiempo.com/

Remember , South Florida is NOT the tropics. Puerto Rico IS

Puerto Rico has STRONG UV and is always warm in the winter UNLIKE Miami.

Puerto Rico is very hard to predict. Do not let these South Florida wannabees fool you.

Puerto Rico is tropical just like Hawaii and is the REAL DEAL.

They usually tend to have the same as we do in Florida. The hurricanes usually come from that area. I have read of rains causing mudslides too. Our rainy season is May thru November. If that helps any. If you always stop plans for fear of one thing or another, you wont live and you will miss out on alot. Best wishes
