Presumably the question does not come from someone who is black, then they would know!
Is it OK to bully someone because they have ginger hair, wear glasses, have wight issues etc? No!
Is it OK to racially or sexually harass someone no!
telling such jokes invites everyone to take part in mass bullying, and the content of the jokes can reinforce racist attitudes to people who seek it as validation (and may not be clever enough to understand any ironic reference)! It also potentially breaks the law.
Anyone who has ever experienced bullying, racism, sexism, disability discrimination etc should be able to grasp why it is not funny, and as there are many cruel people out there, that would be many of us.
Finally ask the CRE this question.

There was never a problem until the PC brigade got involved, we have an Asian friend and he tells us some of the funniest jokes going and all about Asians too, if he can knock himself then why can't it be seen as just plain old fun instead of been racist, one of the best comedians we had in this country has just died, bless him, that was Charlie Williams, he made fun of his own colour and background and he was hilarious and people just loved him for been so laid back, we have got far too stuffy in this country and its about time we were all able to laugh at ourselves again.

1. They are almost always at someone's expense, creating public embarrassment for an innocent victim.
2. They may reinforce a damaging stereotype that is a personal stumbling block to people of the targeted race.
3. You could also hit upon code words used by more dangerous racists.
4. You may hit upon "fighting words" and end up on the floor with a broken nose.

Mothers hurry first word learning. First victim - since the days of Artistotle, who hated women and wrote that slavery was OK, the world has be on the wrong track. Minimum respect btwn genders in the same race and this extends to the racial and nationalistic mindset.

There's nothing wrong with racist jokes. Jokes are meant to poke fun of everyone, including racist stereotypes. This world would be a lot better off if people learned to laugh at themselves and others.

As long as people keep their sense of humor about themselves, they shouldn't be offended by racial jokes and stereotypes.

Unless you are being directly descriminated against and denied something, there's nothing wrong with a little fun-poking at anyone.

There are plenty of jokes out there about every race, so what does it matter if we share them. We all have funny attributes and it's healthy to laugh at ourselves.

I mean, I don't believe in generalizing and judging anyone, but in a joke, it's not reality, it's not negativity, it's a joke.

People can't take jokes. Political correctness has become too extreme. Different people have different tolerances. I didn't see anything wrong with the jokes about Mohamed in that Danish Newspaper a while ago - but hey - the Muslim world about turned on its ear.

Race is no joke, why must someones colour be made funny, are white or black people so different, we are all people, we all have feeling and emotions, what seem normal here in the UK may seem odd overseas, but I'm not out to stop them, i just don't tell them or want to listen to them .

Why is it that when a black person says something to a white person it is OK , but when a white person says something to a black person its racism ? in my experience the black race are the most racist people on this earth i have worked alongside black people for 10 years and this is my opinion . don't get me wrong they are some kind hearted people among them but by god do they stick together in an argument !

You are quite right, as long as the joke is not malicious, then theres nothing wrong. I am scottish and can quite happily laugh at jokes about the scottish so I dont see what the difference is.
Political correctness gone mad.
