I had a molar pulled on thursday afternoon. It still is painful this morning. I have a big knot where they gave me the shot to numb it. Is this normal? I will go back to the dentist, but he's not in today.

It's fine, just follow his directions. As long as you don't have a fever or any oozing, you should be okay. It takes time to heal. Use warm compresses and use a saltwater gargle.

You nay have a bone chip coming out, have the dentist check it as soon as possible, bone chips will usually work their way out, you could also have a dry socket, you could go pick up some ora-gel to help ease the pain. Be sure to get the gel and not the liquid

You might have a dry socket. THose are pretty painful. If you smoke, or drank through a straw since your tooth was pulled it's highly likely it's a dry socket. Of course, it could just be painful because having a tooth pulled can be ... painful!
