I went with my boyfriend last year. It makes for a great day out if the weather is not wet and is fantastically preserved outside and in.... but is more suited to a family day out ( I think it is now owned by one of the big entertainments chains a la Alton Towers). There is lots of live entertainment - horseriding, jesters etc ( at least in the summer) plus a well spooky dungeon/torture chamber and authentic reconstructions inside. I think it is worth the money for a family but teenagers would be bored stiff and if you are after a more adult day out try Chatsworth in hte peak district or go round Windsor Castle.

Warwick castle itself is not the most interesting of these types of places but the town of Warwick is good, lots to see and do and very attractive. A good day out and you don't need to drive from one place to another. The Robert Welch Cutlery shop is a must-see (and spend)..

I've been a few times and have always enjoyed it especially out of season so you don't have to que up. There is always different events happening such as archery and jousting, Kennelworth Castle is also worth alook if your in the area but it is more of a ruin although a great place to visit.
