I have similar problems! First I believe we have to accept that not everybody needs to be positive! Some are just negative! It's just a personality thing. Don't beat yourself up for that! And try to think of good things in your life! It really helps me when I pray and give thanks. You can pray to mother nature if you will, and just realizing that you can't control everything, and observe the little things you can be thank-full for, and realize that life isn't over. Things will come around they always have, they always will. You just have to hang in there.
If nothing works at all, you might be going through a depression, which is harder to detect in naturally pessimist people or when things are tough, or both. You might want to consider counseling, maybe stress relieving exercises (physical or meditation, since stress is closely related to depression), and maybe even a anti-depressant pill depending on the case. But you certainly would need to see a doctor to know better.

You are 16, you are young...don't think that all the bad things will just continue. You have MANY, MANY years to do whatever you want to....you can make things happen...just don't sit around thinking that the perfect job, perfect boyfriend, etc will just happen...

You can go to school to be anything you want. You have to keep trying. (HEY, I am 44 years old and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up! I had a baby at 18 and thought my life was over by the time I was 25! Was I ever wrong!!!!)

Live every day. Look for something positive every day. Think about 3 things everyday that you are grateful for...it can be anything..a roof over your head, tasty pizza, you saw a pretty cloud....do this every, every day...you will get in the habit of looking at the glass as half full, rather than half empty!!

What are some of the positive things you'd like to be thinking about instead?

What is the best thing that could happen to your life right now, I mean really turn it around so that you could FEEL VERY PROUD of your life now?

If you knew for certain that in two weeks, your feelings of having know hope will be gone, how differently would you look at each day until then?

If you were to suddenly realize that a feeling of hope could begin to well up from deep within you, and that it is just growing stronger and stronger, but you don't see it yet, what could you do to get out of its way and just allow it do grow out of nowhere?

Maybe you're supposed to be pessimistic. Pessimism is about being able to find what might not work in a particular situation, is it not? It's a talent that you're just applying to the wrong situations. If you can know what *might* go wrong, then it stands to reason that you can also know what could go right, does it not? For every thing you find that could go wrong, immediately search and find two things that could actually work out for you.

It's all about how you look at things, and you have a choice about that.

You have to make a conscious decision in each situation you approach to look for the positive side. Almost all situations have a positive side even if it is small. Focus on that positive and try to expand it by thinking of ways to improve things that are not positive. For example if you are having a bad day (running late, spilled your coffee, etc. . .) think to yourself that having a bad day every once and a while makes you appreciate the good days and then see what you can do to salvage the rest of the day. It takes practice to think like this so keep at it.

First understand the reasons why you feel down (or let down). There are generally two simple reasons.

(a) Your health is down. Contrary to popular notion, it is the body that defines the mind. If your health is weak, it will affect the state of the mind.

(b) You are setting very high ambitions and failing badly. While nothing wrong in big aims, the steps taken to reach would be small steps. Set short term small aims and achieve them. Nothing follows success like success. Once you start winning, confidence will grow and more success will follow. Therefore, it is important to take up a winnable challenges early on.

Most disappointments in life comes out of either lack of financial resources or love failure. There are ways to go about overcoming these two apparently different reasons, but in reality only one - finance. Show me a wealthy man who doesn't have a stunning woman next to him! So, my recommendation is, go after wealth. Women will follow. (and vice versa for men/women switch).

First cut down any nasty habit that you have which is costing you money. Then pay down any debt you owe. And never smile or laugh until you reach your goal. Be obsessed about winning the financial challenge.

Think positive about everything, be forgivable with others and try to see both sides of life, not only the negative but also the positive. And take some anti-depressiva *just kidding*

Look at the other fences...there are much more difficult circumstances that you/we have been through.

The gem is not polished without friction..nor man perfected without trials.

Life is not all bed of roses...i went through a lot in the past..but there is an end in our sufferings..

God is the key..prayers..Inspirations..friends...family....

there is always a good and a bad part in very single thing you do, see, listen...etc.....so all you have to do is to turn you self more to the good side......

for example, stopping for a red light in an empty road, while there is no Raider, nor anyone passing.....the bad part is, "why the hell am i stopping, there is no one around", the good part is, you had more self respect coz you respected the rule, and felt more confident about the God watching you...;)....
