Some of mine are:

It's only a theory!
The second law of thermodynamics makes evolution imposisble.
The probabilities are too high for a full DNA strand to suddenly come into existance.

What are your favorites?

Please, this question is only for people who have an actual understanding of the theory of evolution.
If you don't understand why the above statements are false, don't bother answering.

PS: this is relevant to this board because these things are always stated by creationists (a religious position)

brisurfer, if your understanding of the 2nd law were true, then refigerators would be impossible.

think about it... think hard....

Even Darwin said he was wrong, when he received Jesus on his death bed!

It takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe that God created everything.

Evolution is about 'chance'

There is no way evolution could have made something as complex as the human eye, it could only have been designed by an intelligent creator.

No-one has ever found an intermediate form between species.

There are fossils with human footprints and dinosaur footprints in the same strata (not exactly about evolution but pretty much a classic)

Speciation has never been observed in either nature or the laboratory.

I could go on, obviously.

EDIT These are my favourite bits of nonsense, not an angry rebuttal from a faithbot.

Actually the second law states that over time energy spreads out. That is a perfectly sound reason for proving evolution considering over the years our DNA has developed and 'spread out' to become more complex.

Mick Jagger and David Bowie announce they are going to get married. And Justin Bieber often is the flower female. Keith Richards arrested for digging up graves, so he might desire to grind up the bones, and laugh them. The Beatles have been rather a delusion, information became leaked in the present day asserting the band rather became The Dave Clark 5. take care dave

So many to choose from but I have to go with "if we evolved from monkeys why are there still monkeys". I have seen this one so many times I just have to roll my eyes when I see it now. It is so lame and anyone who has studied evolution at all would know better than to say this. It shows that there are many people with no knowledge of evolution at all who think they know enough to reject it.

I like the ones who ask questions implying that if evolution was true, by now, everything would be intelligent, as if intelligence was the be-all and end-all of evolution. Though I think 'favorite' is the wrong term. 'most torques me off' is probably more accurate.

I hate it when someone says--'A dog didn't turn into a cat! A monkey didn't turn into a human!' As if it happens overnight or one day a monkey gave birth to a human.

And when I point out the existence, for example, of Key Deer, they shake their head stubbornly. With the evidence right in front of them. Adaptation exists.

Well, I don't know about my favorite--but this one always keeps coming up: That Christianity and a belief in God is at odds with a belief in evolution.

That one never dies, no matter how many times it's been debunked!

C.

Probability is rendered moot by chaos theory.

But I admit that that 2nd law of thermodynamics this is lost on me.

Hehe, most of my favorites have already been said, but I think my favorite is the "why are there still apes" comment.
Makes ya wonder if those people took a science class ever.

My favourite is that Dinosaurs and men co-existed and that the archeologists are all in on the conspiracy...some fundamentalist dude gave me that as an answer..I couldn't believe it at first!
