they are like little balls (couple of millimetres diameter) that come up from the back of your throat, maybe one or two at a time. When you crush them in your fingers they smell terrible

"What you describe for the most part is quite normal. The folds and tucks in your tonsils, and now what remains of them, act as a trap for food particles and bacteria. These food particles essentially grow into white clumps that are either swallowed or spit out. These particles often smell foul due to the bacteria".

omg I know exactly what you mean and they're the foulest smelling things around. I thought I was the only person to have them! I aint had one for years though and i dont think i'll ever get to the bottom of this cos they're so rare. I remember crushing one and wiping it on the end of my girlfriends nose! she didn't speak to me for ages!This is freaky ...I hope we getr to the truth of these mad little things through your question so i'll be watching!!

Sounds nasty...I cough up a bit of mucous from time to time but that's when I've got a chest infection or I've been somewhere smoky.

My friend calls them s**t bits. She used to burst them on her fellas nose, rank eh. Try flossing your teeth and they should go away. I think that they come from the deepest darkest part of hell.

They are called tonsil stones or "tonsiliths", even though they are not really stones. You can look them up on the internet.
