I get mosquito bites all the time. I must have really sweet blood. Anyways, they always welt up and are really itchy, I've wondered if it's a severe allergy. Any sure-fire cures to getting them to stop itching? The best one I've heard is to run hot water over them, but I can't do that at work. Any creams/etc. that work?

i hav the same problem. my bites swell up a lot and are really itchy. i found out that it is due to an allergic reaction of some kind. i usually get stingos gel and put it on the bite and then cover it with a bandaid so it wont get irritated again when i knock it against sumthin. stingos usually works really well but if for some reason it doesn't, then i use calamine lotion which is very soothing and cooling.

a paste made of baking powder and water. my daughter is allergic to the bites-they welt up and scab for about 2 weeks and the bites always get small infections so I keep some neosporin on hand.no sure way to cure or keep them away.I've bought a mosquito repellent for 15 dollars that emits a high pitched noise..it seems to work. just watch out on humid rainy days and wear a light jacket during early morning or evening when they are out.One thing for sure is they are a big pain in the butt.

I nanny near a large body of water, so I deal with misquito bites every day. I'm using some generic "Anti-Itch Cream" from Wal-Mart, and it actually works pretty well on my bites. You have to put the cream on and then not scratch for a while... No guarantees it would work with your bites, but it does work great on mine!

If you get mosquito bites all the time, why aren't you using a bug repellent? It's better to prevent them then try to alleviate them.

Take an antihistamine.

I find putting Tiger Balm on my bites stops the itching and brings down the swelling. While I was in Australia someone told me about this. They do it over there all the time.

Hope this helps.

There is thing you can get at any drug store.........it is called after bite....just dab a bit on the bite area. You should protect yourself when you are outdoors with a bug spray with DEET in it. West Nile disease is a nice thing to get from the mosquitos
