Hou long before micro braids?

I just got a perm and I want micro braids how long should I wait?

You need to wait AT LEAST 2-4 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows and how strong your hair is. Perms (relaxers) weaken your hair and it is at it most fragile state after one (as it would be after a color or any chemical process). I know you want your hair to look fresh when getting your braids done, but what you have to realize is that when it is getting braided, it will be pulled taut and it is going to look good anyway (unless you have not had a perm (relaxer) in a VERY long time! :D

If you've just got a perm, you're going to have to wait at least 6 months for new growth to come in before putting extension or micro braids in. Sometimes it depends on the grade of hair that you have. If it's thick and it grows fast, I would say a possible 3-4 months, if it's thin with split ends or damaged, wait the 6 months. Also there is a product called Do-Gro, it make your hair sprout! It's in a white jar with blue and black writing with a black top. The product inside is blue and it smells pretty good.

I would condition well then try and get them done inabout 2 weeks. The perm can weaken your hair and then adding the braids can also weaken it also. Call around and ask the stylist that you have in mind about what you should do. Stylist are usually very willing to give advice to people who need it. : )
