My wife and I had a large picture of us framed on black mat paper and passed the picture around with a white pen for people to sign and write on. Turned out great and after five years, it is still a great memory and conversation piece. Also, we placed disposable cameras on the tables at the reception.
Had a live harpist play. Great stuff!

Wedding idea's... Well, to me simple is best. Esp. if u r the one paying for it. And if not simple is still the best to me. WHY people spend all that money on dresses and tuxes and so on i know is for show mostly, BUT why not put that money spent on something great like vacation, car, maybe things for a new home. Things that are for the future use is better well spent. If a small wedding is done buy a dress that is able to be worn for another occasion and let the guys decide what would be nice and practical for them but something nice too. First and foremost!!! don't become a bridezilla during the whole thing. Take it slow and steady and enjoy the time spent looking and planning with friends and mom. Good luck!

I knew a couple who flew into the Smoky mountains in a helicopter to a remote area, said their vows, then flew back to spend a week in a cabin.
My husband and I chose a simple ceremony at a beautiful state park open shelter that had a fireplace. It was autumn when the leaves were in their peak color. Now every year our anniversary is when the leaves are pretty so there are lots of places we can go hiking and camping to celebrate.

if its only going to be about 50 people i would have a small, intimate garden wedding with a big party afterward.....go crazy with the menu, have a garden theme menu, wedding favors, flowers etc. etc........or do what i wanted to do and have all of them join you on the cruise but then you have to think about "private" time away from family after the wedding.....do you really want all them hanging around for a week???

This isn't something a bunch of strangers can answer for you. Design the wedding around you and your fiancee and your personalities. If you like huge parties, throw a bash! If you prefer quiet and a few close people, keep it intimate. Go with what feels right to you.

Most of the smaller weddings that I officiate are held on the beach. The couples always love it. It's romantic, simple, and affordable.
Best of luck to you!

personally, I'd do it in a church or at a family member's house, and save the beach/hawaii/cruise for the honeymoon.
P.S. why isn't this in the wedding section?

Doing a wedding outside is very romantic and very close to Gaia (Mother Earth).

I suggest doing a rose ceremony. We had one in ours and it was wonderful. You include it with the regular wedding. There are several different ceremonies you can pick from.
