My autistic nephew is good-for-nothing. He slaps himself round the head a lot, grunts and groans loudly and shits himself a lot. Mind you, he's probably learned that from his numpty parents. If ever there was a case for selective breeding, it's those two.

There are two different 'types' of autism, and variations thereof which make up the autistic spectrum, people with autism tend to have lower than average IQ, and not any particular talents. People with the other 'type' Asperger's syndrome are the ones which have very high IQs and often a particular talent

Only about 2 percent of all autistic people are super talented but as with any ordinary person some do better at some things than others.
My son is just an allround super boy.

No, not all autistic people have a special skill. Only between 1 and 10% tend to savants. The connection between autism and savantism has not been officially found, however, there are theories on why they become savants.

Why should they be?
Are all non-Autistic people good at something?
People affected with ASD can be affected in a number of different ways from HFA(High Functioning Aspergers) to those with Morbid Autism.
There is a hugh range of intelligences and abilities.

NO not all people with autism have a genius streak, that is more common in people who have whats called aspergers, which is a higher functioning autism. and NO not all people w/ aspergers have that either. As for being good at something, I think everyone has something they are good at and may excel in. Genius is a different story.

I think that everyone is good at something its just harder to unlock what that is with autistic people mainly because of communication problems.

I have read that many autistic people can read music and even interpret how it should be played.
So therefore, they are good at certain things..

all people in general are good at something. Autistic people are just on a different level. Their brain activity is on a much higher level. Please note, a higher level not better level. We are all capable of reaching this level, they were just born with it.
