I have seen through many answers here and this is what i got:

Olive oil:
GOODS
Great for shiny and smooth hair
Promotes hair growth

BADS
Too greasy
Defeats the purpose as you will have to shampoo it off

I didn't have much info on using mayonnise for my hair.

Anyone has any suggestions and comments to make?

So if i need to, should i buy normal olive oil from the supermarket for my hair?

Thanks!

I just got a color correction from an experienced stylist, and she told me to use olive oil on my hair since it has gotten very damaged from all the drama. She said to massage it in real gently on a day when you do not have to go anywhere, leave it on over night, and shampoo with a clarifying shampoo the next day. That way it has time to do its thing, I guess. Said I should do it every 15 days or so. And yes, you can get extra virgin olive oil at the store :) She also mentioned mixing in some almond oil...???

Both olive oil and mayo are perfect. For making salad's that is. Rather go to the local chemist and buy a hot oil treatment. Never use oil on Ur hair, it makes Ur hair greasy and if u wash it of whit shampoo Ur hair will lose Even more of its natural shine.

There are so many oils. According to our skin type some oil may suit us. That we have to fond out. On that olive oil is a good one. But it is thick. If you find it uncomfurtable choose some thin oil.

Olive oil works fine for my hair. Obviously, don't pour it on yor head or you'll never get it off.

I have used mayo + egg yolks + honey which made it super soft, shiny + smooth. Just don't heat it up on your head....
