Hi could you please give me instructions on how to put banner ads on my blog, on the left side. I tried it myself and my blog really looked ugly.
How can I put them on the left side, I have very little HTML knowledge. And I don't know how to use WYSIWYG softwares that help you build a webpage.
And also how do I put pitures or and make them clickable in order to download something from my blog, like a picture of an ebook for example and make the ebook downloadable from my blog
Some help would be appreciated.

You can try putting Google Adsense on your blog. Go to https://www.google.com/adsense/. Once you get the code, edit your template, by clicking on the "Template" tab...
Search for the following line:
