It is your choice to be annoyed. Speaking as a little brother, who always idolized his big brother, yet am treated like a pestilence, I believe it is that the older sibling can not see the younger siblings adoration because they are too jealous of having to share mom's love with the baby child.

it's because they seek attention. Younger siblings tend to seek attention of someone older than them because they just want to feel secured or even have fun.
i don't know about you guys but that's what i observed on my lil brothers and sister.
