and i was surprise to see how many foreign mums, mainly muslims with gangs of kids. These women had 3 school age kids one toddler, one baby in a pram and pregnant. This is an inner city school (North west UK) and accepts multiple cultures etc, but my problem is because these kids hardly speak english are english speaking kids going to suffer and are these people flooding the education system?

I think your childs education will suffer yes, how can it not suffer if the teacher is teaching basic English that children of that age should know ?

I do work with an Indian person who believes its the states responsibility to teach her kids English. They are 4 and don't speak a word of English, she only speaks Punjabi at home. With that attitude your kids education must suffer.

I presume that the lessons are given in English so the children will all speak English. Perhaps the school has a policy on this. As for what happens at playtime I'm not so sure. As long as your child has friends speaking the same language then I'm sure everything will be fine. Why not go and have a word with the headteacher and tell them your concerns....

I think the education system will suffer as a result. Teachers are going to be overstretched and as a result the bright english speaking kids are going to get less attention and encouragement in the classroom. This is yet another example of howwe are simply not putting ourselves and our children first in this country.

R u bein REAL???
Do you speak English at home, the teacher at school doesn't she speak English?? Ur making a problem out of nothing, simply because u r racist but are trying to do it mildly, by stating you are looking out for the well being of your children. If it's such a problem MOVE!

Maybe the children who speak English and are less likely to judge foreign language, they will be of assistance to teach them the English language.

I'm not saying you judge, please don't take my words out of context. It's the fear of any foreign parent that their child will be ridiculed or judged. Why not extend your knowledge to them and discover that they are human like the rest of us.

You're bound to get mixed in most schools. Teachers teach English and that's it. Any other language learnt would be a bonus.

It certainly seems like it. It looks as though your little girl, whose grandfather may have fought for this country, could be in the minority in her class. And still the politicians fail to do anything to put this unacceptable situation right. Instead, if anybody speaks out they are immediately accused of having racist views. I don't think it is racist to be concerned about the future of this country, and the future will one day rest in the hands of today's young.

I think the main problem your children have is that their mother is a small minded simpleton. please don't pass your short sighted racist beliefs on to them. Hopefully by going to this school your children will learn new cultures and find out that people are the same good and bad regardless of colour and religion.

maybe they will be able to educate you in a year or two.

here's hoping.
