I have been to St. Martin as well. They use to have a boarder from the French side to the Dutch side BUT no longer. No more boarders. U do not need anything any more. Just go back and forth from French to the Dutch side no problem with no passport. I LOVED St. Martin Island. So much to do and shop till u drop!! Great deals on jewelry that's for sure!!! The little town of Marigot on the French side is so pretty and everything is imported from France!! You will see so much gold and diamonds coming out of your ears!!! Within less than one hour and half you can drive the whole Island by car.
Enjoy!!

I went to St. Martin (French Side) and St. Maarten (Dutch Side). When you enter it is very wise to have a passport. They may or may not stamp it if you are from a cruise ship. Keep your passport cuz it is the way u get to other places too like if u take a side ferry to St. Barth. By the way, you only have a half day on this cruise; go back later for a week or two during christmas or April. Try the Alamanda resort.

No you do not need anything special. Have fun. I loved St. Maarten, especially the French side.

No. You will not even notice you cross from one side to another. Tip: The french side is by far the best-go to Orient Beach !!!

No, you can take a taxi to drive you to the French side or rent a car to drive yourself to the French side. It's just a way who separate those sides.
