You don't give enough information for me to even guess. Is it sore to the touch? Is it red or skin colored? Has it been growing there, or did you just notice it one day? Does your jaw or ear hurt? Have you recently had a cold or sore throat? Do you suffer from acne? I just saw a patient with an impacted salivary gland that presented the exact same symptoms. Could be lots of things.
Care to elaborate?

it could be a lymph node. i had one just under my jaw, by my throat, that had to be taken out when i was 8 years old because it was the size of a golf ball. i also have one on my jaw that is about the size of a pea. are you able to move it around at all? you might want to see a doctor. i don't think lymph nodes are dangerous at all. i've had the one in my jaw for about 10 years now.

It is a swollen gland. Mine swells sometimes when I get a lot of mosquito bites or when I am ill. If it doesn't go down in a few days go see your doctor.
