the car is at the dealership and I don't have the vin#. How can I get the history without the vin#.

you need the vin # to run a carfax, if you're buying it from a dealer ask them for one.

If you're buying the car from a dealer, have them get you a carfax report... If you do it yourself, it will cost you $20 bucks online... You need the VIN # which should be located on the driver's side dash. If the dealer won't give you a carfax, find another dealer... A history by the Plate won't do much good because the plate number hasn't necessarily been associated with the car that long... any time the car was bought by a new owner or moved to a new state, the plate would have changed... The VIN (vehicle identification number) is registered with the car from the beginning and is never changed.

VIN# and run it through carfax history. pay the $10.00 also if the car was serviced by a dealer they may have the service records

get the vin # and go to kellybluebook.com, it will give you the cars history if it has one
