Someone posted in one of there answers before that the IRS cannot turn in an illegal immigrant know matter how they were discovered. So that leaves them free to just use someone elses ss#? Becasue they were obiously using someone elses ss# if the IRS discovered them. Unless it was through an employer.

IRS seminars, IDs help illegal immigrants pay US taxes
Critics say one federal agency is accommodating lawbreakers that another agency is trying ferret out.

HOUSTON – Tax counselors at a recent IRS seminar at an immigrant community center have already seen 100 people and are facing an overflow crowd in the waiting room hoping for tax help.
These people aren't in a quandary over new tax laws or changes to the code. These are illegal immigrants who – up until today – have been using false social security numbers to work in the United States. Immigrants like them are flocking in record numbers to IRS offices and seminars such as this one to learn how to become legal US taxpayers.

The IRS has been quietly supporting this activity since 1996 when it created an individual taxpayer identification number designed for anyone who doesn't have a social security number.

This program has gained momentum as immigrants become aware of this option – and more fearless about their position in the US workforce.

repeating above response because it's important:

since 1996, illegal immigrants can get a tax id# and use that to pay taxes. it does not involve using someone elses ss# or any other kind of ss or tax fraud or id theft.

it is not hard to find info about this on the internet. just google.

do you not think that a person who presents his/ herself to the IRS is not risking a great deal in order to pay taxes. you seem to think that all the taxes that are withheld from your check aren't withheld from theirs?? that they work and can cash a check or deposit it in a savings/checking account as easily as you? ask at your bank if they don't check SS#. the IRS gives out these # so that a illegal can work, pay taxes to the government and not use someone else's SS#.

i'm against unlawful immigration considering that's faulty user-friendly and easy. It has financial, risk-free practices, environmental, sociological, etc costs that are coach why that's going to no longer be allowed and peoples' emotions override all the info with one be conscious "racism". i do no longer relish utilising this mudslinging to mask the pro-illegals loss of a genuine argument. that's achieveable to risk-free practices as they could convey weapons that's achieveable to public wellbeing as illnesses could be introduced in devoid of therapy and reason epidemics that's achieveable to environment as vegetation+fauna could be introduced in that has no place in our ecology that ought to smash community ecological stability those are merely 3 rationalization why that's stupid to permit and that's not appropriate what race the two...unlawful is against the regulation
