First of all, take her to the vet for an exam. Could be allergies, a skin condition, or parasites. Some animals overgroom due to stress or boredom. Giving your kitty some new some toys or a climbing post may alleviate boredom. If she's stressed, believe it or not there's Kitty Prozac available. A visit to your vet is the first step in trying to solve the problem.

Could be fleas, could be a skin problem, could be she is upset and stressed.
When we first adopted our kitty from the shelter, she would lick her fur right off. We took her to the vet and nothing.....no dermatitis, no ringworm, no flea.
After she got used to us, and began to relax, she stopped licking and now has beautiful fur.

Take her to the vet & have her checked out. Remember cats DO NOT like change - at all, so look at what has been going on the last little while. Is someone in your home mistreating her - even if they are being just a little mean.

I hope your kitty gets her hair back!!!

Are you sure she is not getting bald because of funghi and this is why she is licking herself? (itching?). Have a vet see her, a few days ago a cat was licking its tummy because she was constipated. I have never had this problem, so i have no more ideas, but if it turns out she has no medical problem, try playing with her more and petting her, she might need that.

I wouldn't worry too much, its probably a skin infection, allergy or flea infestation, all of which can be treated. Your vet will probably do an allergy test and check for parasites etc. Have you changed cat food lately? any other environmental changes?

When you get to the vet you might find out your cat has an allergic dermatitis that makes her itch. That happened with my cat and through treatment the itching went away and she looks luxuriously furred all over now.

Some cats can develop a nervous disorder that causes them to pull their hair out, or it could be fleas you don't see. Here's more info:
