My fiance and I have decided to accept God into our hearts recently. I have no problem with just having faith in something, however, he is having a difficult time because he was raised to think very logically and scientifically and he's having a hard time just believing in something with no proof or reason. I was wondering if there's any advice any one has that could help me comfort him. Is there anyone else out there who also thinks logically and scientifically, but has a strong faith in God? If so, how do you believe? I want us to be on the same level about our faith and I need some help doing that.

Btw, I am not forcing my fiance to believe anything. This is something we both chose for our own lives. He basically needs some guidance. This is something he has asked me for, but being a new Christian, I feel as though I'm not able to truly answer his questions, which is why I'm turning to others to help me. I would of course ask our pastor, except for the fact that we recently got a new pastor in our church and we recently started going. I want to explore this for myself first. I'm not asking for judgement from anyone, just simply some advice.

sounds like you need a starting place. in order to have strong faith in things you dont understand try seeking things you already do understand. for example many years some science though the earth was flat. in the pslams the Bible talks about the circle of the earth. that verse was written long before mankind flew into space and noticed that the earth was indeed round shaped or a sphere. also there is definately proof that dinosaures exsisted (i have seen the bones) but are they in the bible? yes they are, in the book of job God speaks of a behemoth and a leviathan. the describtions of these two animals are such that he can knock over willows with his tail and drink lakes. he says this to explain to Job that if he can make a beast of such size then why not believe everything he says. science says that the largest land animal is possibly a brontosaurus. and there was a swimming animal bigger than the largest whale living now. another logical thing is the instruction of pork. God did not want the hebrews to eat pork becasue it was unclean. we know now that you must cook pork at a high temperature to kill a bacteria that is harmful to humans. the type of fuel availiable at the time that law was put into effect could not reach the correct temperature to kill the parasite, the fuel being wood, hay, and straw. later God allowed that it was ok to eat it (see where Jesus talks about clean and unclean) the reason? science or technologoy had progressed to the point to where the meat could be cooked well enough to kill the parasite. Most of God's word is that way. rather than try to explain a complicated process he says to have faith. if you chose to research it most often you will find that it works out. however, there are many things that do not. if it does not line up with God's word then it is not of God and you should stay away. accepting Jesus is the only way into God's presence without him there is no way. any thing other than Jesus is false.

i believe that I have a strong faith in God...in fact im studying at a seminary now, but I also think that I am a logical/scientifically minded person. I loved science in high school. One of the things that helps me to have faith is to see the complexity of the world. The complexity of the human body! This stuff could not be here just by chance, logically speaking, there must be a higher being that has at least started all things in motion. Over 90% of the world believes that there is some 'higher power' although not all can say exactly who. God shows himself to me in the small things, the sunset, the cool breeze, in other people. And you will notice that they longer you have a realtionship with God, the more ways you can see his hand working in your life. Its best to journal, write things down...i never do, but wish i did...espically for moments like this. I have these times where I am like 'WOW' God has done the impossible, this would not have been possible if God had not been around, and its at times like those that I see he really does exist... but that wont mean that you wont have doubts at times. We all have our hill tops and our valleys. Just be sure to stay in a community of people with the same beliefs as you, they will give a lot of support and guidance. Blessings on you both!

Sometimes it is hard for someone to see the good things of God since they were brought up not in a Christian home, Sister, Take your fiance out for a drive, & stop the car & walk through the woods, ask him do you see that tree, God made it, It loses it's leaves in the fall & in the Spring it blooms out again, ask him if he see a flower, tell him that that little lower is a creation of God & how that little flower knows when to bloom & when not to, Then show him the sky, & said can you see the Stars, ask him how beautiful they are arranged at night so peaceully there in the sky, ask him who put those stars there. Sister, be patient, don't force anything on him If you live that life before him He will see something that will bring him into harmony with you. Also Sister, This walk with God is a continue thing, I have been walking with God for over 36 yrs. & I am still learning, I lost my 1st wife in death, & I remarried, & now I have been married to my Christain 2nd wife for almost 16 yrs. We both believe the same thing, Not one time have we had a disagreement about our Doctrines. And also our every day interest is the same also.

Sexy Lexy,
First of all, it's by Jesus that you accepted God. Your eyes seem to be focused on your husband. That's not the direction that you should be going. Our eyes need to focus on Jesus Christ.

Before I get carried away here, I want to tell you something. The Bible is what you need to keep your nose in. It's the source of what Christians are led to believe. The source of written knowledge. You wouldn't read Better Homes and Gardens to become a scientist, right? Well, to be a Chirstian and have faith, you need to know what to Faith on. What is Faith anyway?

Faith is an action, based upon belief, sustained by confidence. Without the knowledge, what is there to be confident in? As you have read, Faith requires action. What action? How about prayer? Last time I checked, Pray is a verb; to pray. An Act of Faith, right? You are believing that there is someone listening. You trust that God is listening and you act on that by telling Him all about everything.

There are so many verses to what I am saying that I can quote to you. But I know that you don't need a 10,000 word essay.

Allow me to give you some advice. Please.

Find a womans Bible Study, and go once a week. Your husband if he wants to, should go to a mens Bible Study once a week. If you think that you like that, try going to a couples Bible study also. Many churches have all kinds of things going on in addition to the once a week sermon on Sundays.

I think this plan will allow you to get a flavor of what different Christians think and feel. You will also be affected by their influence. You may have some friendships come out of it. And then there's that other thing that happens kind of spontaneously: You find yourself becoming a strength to others. That's when the blessings really kick in.

Peace and Grace to you, in Jesus name.

There is no logic in believing in something you can not see.
The spiritual realm is not meant for logical thinking, it is about having faith in something greater and wiser than anything you can ever imagine.
Watching for God is like watching for the wind. You recognize it by the movement of everything around you. You can feel it as it embraces you but you can not see it.
My advise is to take it slowly and attend church as often as you can. Attend bible classes too, this will definitely help. Lots of praying on his behalf..... when you pray, believe that God does hear you and is sitting in front of you as you pray and if you don't know what to pray? Just close you eyes and feel with your heart what you want God to know.... he will understand.

I pray that God and Jesus bless you both with the spirit of knowledge.

Yes.

I am a Muslim.
I believe in the teachings of the Quraan.

If you read the translation of the Quraan, you will find answers.
You will see that it not only contains details of what happened in the past, but also how to live a good, pure life.

There is also lots of scientific evidence in the Quraan regarding proofs, signs, etc. Many others in the past have accepted Islam based on the evidence in the Quraan.

Also the teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him) are beautiful and can help you live a good, happy morally correct life.

Please do not be influenced by the negative publicity and propaganda of the West.

Research Islam with an open heart and mind.

May Allah guide you to the religion of peace.

That will be a real challenge for you, to be on the same level of your faith together. It's possible that you're more eager to except your faith with an open heart, and with your finance, it'll be on God's time. God will reveal himself to us when we're ready, and you could be holding yourself back wanting to be on the same level of faith.
You are the tool God will use to build a stronger faith in your finance. If he's having a difficult time, then be gentle towards his feelings, because if you try to make him see proof of God, it could cause him to reject it all together. Let God deal with his heart, and just encourage him daily, and never stop praying!!

Make him feel happy when you are with him. He doesn't need you to have a logical and scientific mind; he needs you to be the the other half that makes him whole and satisfied. Earn his trust in you, and give him the first priority in your life. Study him and understand him very well and improve your oneness in him. Be the wife that makes him peaceful and see that you are appreciated well for having you. You have a strong foundation to build upon, start your journey and remember, that Christ is the rock and the foundation that shall provide you with all blessings, and happiness and continuous joy. May God bless you both.

First of all, congratulations on accepting God. That's a big step. The next thing you need to do is read the bible. I would start in the New Testament, in Matthew. It is hard to believe in what you cannot see, that is why it is called faith. He can't see air, but it is also there. Just something to think about. Faith is kind of like stepping off a ledge into thin air (remember Indiana Jones). The first step is the hardest and you might drop just a bit, but God will hold you and take care of you. Once you and your fiance take the first step in believing, the rest will be much easier. Just read your bibles regularly and pray every day. This will keep you strong in your walk with God

I am also a person who thinks very logical about things and need proof of everything. It wasn't until about a year ago I saw that there must be God. Tell Him to pray and let God reveal Himself to him. Not reveal in the sense of show His face, but in the sense of assure Him that there is a God. God loves His children and will definitely assure your husband that there is a God. And God will show your husband in the best known way that will fit your husband. I'll pray for Him also, and you must also keep on praying.
