I once saw an evaluation tool that was graphic depicting hats and smiley faces so that people could score how much they got out of a particular workshop based on the pictures.

If anyone knows of a good evaluation tool that is easy to use and easy to decipher the infomration it is wanted as a feedback / evaluation following a work presentation that is to be conducted later this month

it is true that work related presentations are best evaluated by the end result of the presentation...

did the presentation achieve what it needed to achieve...???

you could do a simple evaluation like this.

using 1 as the least helpful/useful/likely and 5 as the most helpful/useful/likely please evaluate this presentation

how well did this presentation relate to the work you do?
1 2 3 4 5

how useful was the information presented?
1 2 3 4 5

how easy was the information to understand?
1 2 3 4 5

did the presenter offer sufficient time for Q & A's ?
1 2 3 4 5

would you recommend this presentation to others working in your field?
1 2 3 4 5

in this way you get a good idea if what you have presented has helped anyone and if it is worth doing again at a later time.

perhpas you will think of other questions to add but don't make the evaluation too long and difficult or people just wont bother..

Hats and smiley faces? Who do you work with, kindegarten students? Seriously, the best evaluation tool of any presentation or workshop is closing with q&a period.

To evaluate the success of the presentation, you have to ask yourself the following question:

what are the objectives of my presentation?

for example, will you be informing your colleagues of the lastest sales figures? evaluation would then be based on whether they have understood the information. Or it could be based on how useful the information is to them.

will you be making a sales pitch, persuading clients to accept your proposal? Evaluation would then be based on whether you have been convincing enough (that is, if your clients actually accept the porposal). Or it could be based on the strength of your ideas in the proposal.

will you be presenting how you would be re-structuring your department? evaluation could be based on how well they have understood your explanation.
