My friend whose fiance resides in Italy wants to marry her there but is afraid of the red tape and does not know the procedure or who to contact in that regard. We do know that he can bring her to the United States with the 90 day fiance visa and within 90 days they will be married. We do know that the 90 day fiance visa is probably less complicated but we would like to know about how he could get married in Italy with her. Any ideas on who to contact, possibly the US Embassy in Rome?

it is possible to get married in Italy.... but I would advise against it.... I would advise you to do what I did... I got married in the US in a civil ceremony (like a court house like thing or small wedding chapel), then started your residency application, apply for a advanced parole..... then get have your big fancy family wedding in Italy (I had my big wedding In my home country 9 months later, it gave me enough time to plan it and get my paper work, but I really only needed a couple months to get the advanced parole), if you get married in Italy, then you need to apply at the embassy for a spousal visa or residency.... I am not sure which one is faster.... but you could check the site (3rd link attached), or contact an immigration attorney.... I had one, and she advised me to get married in the US and then have my ceremon later.... but I was also in the USA already on a visa..... it may be different for you....

If they're planning on living in the US then it's probably better to bring her to the US on a fiancee visa and get married here.

If her family in Italy wants the wedding there, then they should have a civil marriage in the US, then once the wedding takes place and she gets a re-entry permit (or Green Card), go to Italy for the church wedding.

I have married a Filipino in the Philippines two years ago.Now trying to bring her here to the USA.not easy and the cost alone is very excessive>better to bring her here to marry.Less money and time involved.
That is why i am now fighting to change the immigration laws .The first it go against God and his word and second it go against human rights. As long as the laws stay as they are i don't care how big of fences you put up and how many minuter men you use either way the cost is going to be high And illegals will keep coming.

Go to the EMbassy. If they are like the one in Tokyo, they can marry you there.
