I've been dying mine for about 5 years now. And I do it for the same reasons as you mention. The grey just doesn't make me look the way I feel, however the brown colour does. I'm going on 58 in November, and have been greying since 26 years OA. In my younger days, it was sort of a "salt-n-pepper" look and women found it attractive. So it was cool.
After I hit 50, the hair greyed more rapidly and it looked dull and listless. I considered dying it blonde just for a lark - something different.
Then I realized that although I'd said I would never colour my hair, if I was willling to make it another colour, why wouldn't I be willing to make it my original one? Seemed irrational. So I did it.
It took a few times to make it look natural, but not that long - 2 times and it was right. and I never lie about it. If someone asks me I answer yes, straight up! However most people - even ones who know me, never ask about it. And some of them have forgotten I'd been grey.
All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with it. It lasts about 4 - 6 weeks as it grows out, and when I cut it, the colour is all gone and I see how grey I really am. Then I colour it again that night and I'm good for a month or so.
The product I use is "Just For Men," and the tint I use is medium brown. It's nearly a spot on perfect match for my original color.
I say this, if you're thinking about it - DO IT! It's not as traumatic as you might fear.
And if it makes you feel more like yourself, what's wrong with that?
And if it doesn't...let it grow out and go back to grey.

Okay first off you don't want to go to extremes here, people will notice if you go from gray to dark in less than 24 hours.
I use a Redken color called Camo for my male clients. It doesn't "cover" the gray, but blends it into looking more like a blonde, and you can get several shades to help with that.
It also washes out which means you won't have that line that everyone will see, just think of a blonde with black roots, it's the same with gray hair. A professional hairstylist can recommend which product would be good for your hair, and since this is an often service he/she may even be able to give you a discount.

If it were me I would grow old gracefully mate. Many women find it sexy and distinguished for a man to have greying hair. I guess you can try some of the stuff on the market and see how you get on with it.
I just think that things that are fake tend to look fake. The walk down the red carpet at the oscars is a real 'spot the toupee' competition for example!

You'll have to try it and see what you like best. A lot of men dye their hair for a little while and then realise that actually the grey looks better. This is even true for gay men that I know who you'd think might be more sensitive about it than straight men.
Change is always a little hard to accept, but dyeing will have to be re-done every month or so....
Best of luck whatever you decide.

its completely ok if u wanna color them..
but hey coloring them black or brown or anyother shade wouldn't make u the same old 2 yr back person ...
n to be honest its not the color of hair that makes u look smart or young but it's the attitude that u carry that really works for u....
so do whatever u like ...continue with grey or go for those browns ;its completely ur life ; ur style n most importantly UR HAIR so do what u wish to - i mean at the end of the day u must be comfortable with it ...
n hey remember one thing -"Time may wrinkle the skin but should never weary the spirit"...
so just be young in spirits n no matter grey or brown everything will look good...

From one grey haired 30 something to another - go get it professionally done if you decide to do it. Grey is hard to dye and keep dyed.
As you get older though, remember to go lighter - have you seen those old men and women out there with dark hair?

Definitely dye your hair. You will feel much better. I totally do not agree that dark haired people should go a shade or two lighter as they age - all is does is make them look pale and older. My mother was one of three sisters - all with dark brown hair. The other two went lighter and my mother kept her original dark color. She looked so much better than the other two and considerably younger! Have fun with your hair!!!

If you do, you'll get into the trap of continuously dying your hair for the rest of your life - and then one day you'll decide you want to stop and go grey virtually overnight, so it will be obvious to everyone what you've been doing.
Personally I think grey is cool - just look at Sean Connery, George Clooney or even Ian McKellen! Grey is cool, be proud of it.

you could use that just for men, its good, it dyes your hair to its origional colour.
the only problem is you can keep dying your hair and one day you'll just think...oh sod it, im fed up with all this hastle, grow old gracefully, then your left with a full head of grey hairs so everyone will notice, if you go grey gracefully, nobody will notice.
But you know how you feel about your hair so the end decision has to be yours (my hubbys alot older than me, he still looks sext with the few grey hairs)

it depends how much grey you have,if its just a sprinkling of grey than why not try a semi permanent hair colour in dark brown.they wash out in up to 24 washes some wash out in 6 washes.there are lots of different ones to try.if you can afford it then go to a salon and have it done professionly.if it makes you feel better go for it.we all need a boost sometimes to perk us up.
