The plant is native to southern Europe and Asia and is well adapted to dryland conditions in the Dark Brown and Brown soil zones.

India is the major producer.

The seeds of fenugreek contain many active biological chemicals many it a potent medicinal and nutraceutical supplement. Fenugreek is called in hindi methi. Its good for sugar patient n generally good for health its cools the body n if we applied to hair head wash hair will be black n soft. This leaves also good for health n medicinal value

I think, perhaps, that you, or who you are referring to, are applying the whole to individual parts... or individual issues. You need the seed or the plant? Both are available in the market.
The plant can be eaten as spinach, but the seed is used small amount for frying. It is also used medicinally for curing diabetes but doses are different for different people. Also it is used for hair cleansing and conditioning aid.

Fenugrek is called 'Methi' in Hindi. Its leaf, like Spinach, is also consumed. It is quite delicious. Its seeds are good for Diabetics control. It is also used for garnishing. Seeds are the source of growth.
