Is America the whore of Babylon?

A lot of end times writers believe the USA is the whore of Babylon in Revelation. And lately, I'm starting to believe it.

ABSOLUTELY!!!! i heard a pastor talking about some prophecies and he said that the American empire is the 4th Anti Christ!
he explained it perfectly from the book of revelations! I'm not a christian but i found the prophecies kinda fascinating!!
the prophecy speaks of 4 empires babylon and roman and i forgot what else and ALL came true at the exact predicted time!!
i think it was daniel that saw the beast coming out of the sea and had 4 heads one head had 10 horns or something like that!! it's been a while since i saw that video.

Who knows but it could be if you read the discription of Babylon the Great, with the seaports and huge importers and exporters of merchandise, don't think that Rome meets these qualifications as far as having warm water seaports that are used year round no main seaports right? Something to think about. Humm another interesting factor Babylon New York, ah so many options. No, the whore of Babylon represents a church. Look at women symbolism and marriage symbolism throughout the Bible.

The USA however is represented in Bible prophecy in chapter 13,

as the nation which is lamb like, governed not by a monarchy (king, queen etc - notice no crowns on the horns) but by 2 governing principles - rightly; religious and civil liberty.

I think your question/opinion in the question is close. The beast (I assuming the asker is referencing Rev. 17 & 18) is America's citizens and the whore Babylon is the leadership of America.

By the way, for all you fundamentalists that want to make this critque of the Roman Empire into a slander on the Catholics, Vatican Hill is not one of the seven hills.

Revelation encourages the writer's fellows that despite their present trouble and persecution, Rome will suffer for harming them and Jesus and his chosen will ultimately triumph.

So there are 2 women in Revelation and they both represent a church, which churches do they represent?

Obviously since the dragon (Satan) hates the women clothed in light she must be God's Church. And the Revelation 17:4 talks about the other woman it says that she has a "cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:" She obviously must be against God

They tried to change the day of worship to Sunday with no scriptural evidence. They did this because they used to worship the Sun god on that day
