When is the best timing to take your boyfriend home and meet your parents? I and he are dating for a year, we are in a long D relationship, we meet 4 to 5 times a year, he is not living with his family, they are in another country. He suggests I should meet his mom and family sometimes, and he said he wants to meet my parents next time he is in town. Well, I am not sure if it is suitable to do that now.

I have only brought one boy home to meet my parents, and that is my current boyfriend of 4 years. He met my parents after we were dating for 8 months. I figured that since we lasted 8 months and I could see us being together for a long time, it was probably the right time for him to meet my parents. It was to celebrate my 23rd birthday. When I started dating him, we had just met, so we were still getting to know each other. He asked me to be his girlfriend a week after we met.

If you think you will be with your guy for a while, you should probably let him meet your parents. What's there to lose? Everything will be alright, it's really not that big of a deal. Why would you want to hide him from your family if you care about him?

You should only introduce the bf to the parents when you're ready, not him. If you do, it's sending everyone the wrong message about where you are in that relationship. To me, meeting the family is HUGE!! It says that I'm completely ready to admit to everyone (myself included) that we are a serious, committed couple. So to me, taking that step shouldn't be taken lightly. So until you're ready, I wouldn't do it. Do it when YOU are ready.

if you dont think its right timing, tell him how u feel. he'll understand. and ask your parents when a good time is for them. you'll never want to show up on their door step. then they'll have to pull u aside and talk to u and ur boyfriend will think their talking about him! Good Luck! =]

The time is now do you think your parents or his wouldn't approve? Don't be scared just do it.
At least you will know what your partners up bringing was like and what he will become (like parents).
