Ive heard that some types of sauanas make you sweat, but the weight loss is from your metabolisim burning faster to cool you down, but does it work with steam saunas? Has anyone lost weight (water) with it?

Yes it does!! The steam in the sauna makes you sweat and this sweat brings out excees fat and other unwanted toxic materials from your body making you lose weight and look thin. It's good for people suferring with fatigue. Yeah but don't buy those Slim Sauna Belts that you see in TV Commercials because they are no good as sauna steam.

The weight loss effects are minimal.Water weight loss is a false weight loss as it has very little to do with actual body fat. Saunas are great for relaxing though and soothing sore aching muscles.

A steam sauna will cause you to sweat out excess water, which will cause you to immediately lose weight. However, as soon as you drink a glass of water, the weight's back on.

Your body's metabolism will SLOW DOWN, not speed up, when you're in one of these saunas. Metabolism's function is to heat your body up, NOT cool it down. An example of that is shivering-- when you're cold, your body shivers as a mechanism for moving you around and to raise your metabolic rate to heat you up. When you're too warm, your metabolism slows down to a halt in order to avoid causing you to overheat.

they make you sweat (your body's attempt to cool you down), but they don't burn calories. you may loze a couple ounces of water weight, but dinking water throughout the day will put it right back into your body (whoch is a good thing, cuz your body needs this defense mechanism). if you really wanna lose weight, sitting in a sauna isn't gonna do it, unfortunately...time to get moving!
