Yes, my apartment was wired for cable and a Dish Network dish was installed on the same wiring. My reception is perfect.

Right now Dish Network installs systems that require very high-quality cabling to be installed. Unfortunately, though, the cable used for Cable TV is not high enough quality. There is a small chance it will work but only if the cable run is very short (fewer than 20 feet) and there are no splices or couplers between the receiver and the Dish Network multiswitch. The reasons are many:

1) Dish Network requires an electrical current to run through the cable and Cable-TV wire is not rated to carry a current.

2) Even the best Cable-TV cable in your home is only be rated to carry 25 MHz through just under 1 GHz of signal--about 70 channels' worth. The current Dish Network systems, including the one you're probably going to get, send signals from 950 MHz through 2.1 GHz down the cable which is well in excess of the rating of that Cable-TV cable.

Fortunately DISH Network will install cables for you with no extra charge, even going so far as penetrating an external wall of your house to get the proper type of cable to your receiver. If that is not an option they can install the dish on the balcony of an apartment and run the cable under your window using a special flat cable that is designed to pinch under windows and sliding doors.

No, I have the same thing and the same Dish Network. The reason is the cable frequencies are different. But the Dish Network installer was very good and we have 4 hookup with no problems at all. Now if you get the DVR it is only good for one TV and you cannot spread it around. But it is a different type of cable and each TV needs a different receiver which Dish Network provides for free.

It really depends on the installer not the company. If you don't tell them exactly what you want, you will find out that they will do it the easy way. Whoever you pick, you might want to set it up ahead of time with the company telling them that you don't want wires running around the house. However, some walls cannot be fished because of cross members for support. The U-verse should be a cable company and I'm not sure but I don't think it works on the existing phone wires. Most telephone companies will work for time and materials but that doesn't solve your problems with the tv installation. Just tell them what you want ahead of time. Good luck

Probably depends on the size of cable. We had cable tv and the same cable was too small for cable internet so they had to replace the one cable where the computer is.
