My husband has been gone for a month and I want to plan the PERFECT homecoming! Any ideas? So far I have: Nice dinner, sexy nightie, candles...but those are obvious!

My thoughts on this are, If you can be there when he arrives back, be there. There is nothing better for his morale than seeing his families faces when he gets off the transports, than seeing those he loves. I never had that and that's what I wanted the most.

Hope this helps...

I am almost an expert in this,, LOL

We usually decorate the yard really nice,, I have done everything from just yellow balloons and bows and ribbons everyone in the yard,, to doing the red white and blue lights all over the house,, like christmas in July,,

this last time I just did a sign on the car port that says welcome home and flages in the yard.

as far as the other stuff you have the right Idea,, but depending on the type of TDY he might be pretty tired or dirty when he gets home,, letting him have a long shower or bath is always helpful too. it's funny when mine gets home he always wants Pizza so I alway have to go get Papa Johns Pizza for him,, either the first nite or the next day depending on what time of day he gets in.

Good luck and god bless you and your hubby!!!!

Sweetie, he will just be happy to be home with you! I really wouldn't put much into a Homecoming as soon as he returns. He will be tired, stressed, all kinds of emotions. He will be scared, anxious....nervous...distant....clingy...He will need much needed time to get back into the swing of things...
I have been thru this more than once, and all my DH wanted was to come home...

ps...I am not much for 'advertising' that my DH is coming home. I guess I just follow OPSEC more times than not....

My hubby doesn't like any attention draw to the fact he is home. He is deployed now and will be home for his one year tour Nov. and the base throws the big "Welome Home" bash. I would save the money, not blow it on the ribbons and decorations, but instead.....Have a great night in,watch movies,relax,cuddle......you know, all the stuff you missed. Order his favorite food, have it home and ready. Wear a sexy outfit for sure, and he will be happy. Good luck!!!
HOOAH!!!

As an over 20 year vet, that sounds good. Take the phone plug out of the wall also.

Ever hear the song "Baby, I'm home"? If I didn't have the kids thats what I'd be doing when mine gets home!

Don't forget that if you have kids, to have them spend the night somewhere else (vet here, take my word for it).

Just for the first night though.

there is a huge amount of people in the military getting divorces after deployments so just being there is good enough i think.
