I happened to come across this Catholic web-site and the pictures on the website confirm one thing, Catholism glorifies Mary more than Jesus Christ...The pictures often show Mary carrying Jesus as a baby but hardly do we see Jesus on the Cross...Jesus on the cross means deliverance for many people, therefore Satan wants to make people to remember his birth more than His death.Jesus Christ never commanded us to remember His birth but to remember His death. With His birth, Satan knows that Mary would be deitified(made like God).

I don't hate Catholics but we should not allow false worship to God. Any false worship is demonic, whether involved people are aware of it or not.

exactly why Catholicism is definitely NOT Christianity. Christianity worships Jesus/God only. Catholicism worships Jesus/God, Mary, and all of the Apostles. In all truth, many people also don't realize that Catholicism was also a religion created from Christianity to keep the common people of Europe in the grip of the government by combining the church with state - when you make the bible law while adding things to the bible, you can keep them in constant conviction by god. They also would not show the bible to common people, to keep them from finding wrong in what the catholic church did. I personally think of Catholicism as a completely separate religion rather than a denomination of Christianity.

geez

there is no devil, or satan, or whatever.

however I do agree with you that some aspects of the Catholic doctrine do seem rather pagan to me:
- they adore numerous sub-deities, which they call "saints". Just like the Egyptians, the Romans, you name it. The origins of this are because when early Christians wanted to convert simple people, they couldn't just tell them to do away with their usual local gods, so they would tell them, "don't pray to the god of thunder, but pray to Saint Barbara, who is the saint for thunder"

- they fill the churches with representations of Christ, even though the Bible expressely forbids any representations (the Protestants don't have any, neither do the Jews, neither do the Muslims)

- as you rightly mention, they worship Mary much more than either Christ, or God. In christenings I have often seen a simple, quick ceremony, after which the baby is brought in front of a statue of Mary, to be "introduced to her". This is paganism at its worst. It has nothing to do with the Bible. But again, in the days of the early Christians, many people worshiped the Earth, or the Mother Goddess (fertility deity), and the early Christians came to them and said here is a new God, but you can go ahead and continue to worship your Mother Goddess, only you'll call her Mary is that ok?

- and there are various other small things. For example during communion the Catholics strongly insist that the bread and wine transform into the blood and flesh of Christ. This is pure superstition, which is forbidden in the Bible. And Christ said, "do this to remember me by".

I can't follow you however on the "false worship", "demonic" track. Such things do not exist. Christ's sacrifice was so that all men would be forgiven their sins, all men.

I think a better way to state it instead of demonic it is worshiping idols. Mary was not a God or on the trinity but a path to Jesus. Her father and mother were also a path to Jesus but they are not worshiped. From what I have heard from many people is that Catholics can be converted to Christianity through their own bible. I have been to a Catholic church and they normally do not encourage reading of the bible. The whole "mass" is reciting prayers that everyone has memorized. I think that we should not judge others and say whether any "religion" is going to hell or not. That is God's place, however we can offer to have "bible studies" with Catholics if they are willing. Just as it is wrong for Church of Christ to say that Baptist is going to hell or Baptist to say Presbyterian are going to hell. You and I and every other Christian need to be careful just to teach the bible. We are not judges.

The Catholic religion is the original Christian religion... It was founded by people later declared Saints and scriptors of many of the books of the bible... The Catholic religion is also responsible for preserving the bible, as we know it today, for the world Christian religions... Mary was in fact Jesus mother and should be honored as such... and although important, the portrayal of Jesus giving up his life for us on the cross, it is not his only accomplishment... He did a lot more for mankind that just that last sacrifice... The problem with all these "spin-off" Christian religions is that they read and spread their own interpretation of the bible and it's writings... and some of them can get pretty far fetched and wild at times... but to each their own...

Reading your additional details confused me. It seems like you already know why ppl say Catholics aren't Christian.

The simple truth is that Catholics don't put an emphasis on the path of Christ. The put emphasis on the path of Mary, that is, being virtuous and therefore "deserving" of God's grace. To be Christian is to be Christ-like.

The focus should not be on his death but on his resurection for in it he conquered the grave and overcame sin and death. I find that Catholics tend to focus too much on Mary i.e praying to her. Where we are specifically told in the Bible that Jesus is all we need, that he is the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father except by him.

i am neither christian nor catholic
but i find the idea of remembering a death quite disturbing .. however i respect that the symbolic message behind the crusifiction should be admired and respected
but i dont understand why jesus's birth ..a celibration of his life .. isnt equally imortant in his message .. and more so the woman who carried this mircale and raised this young man to adulthood , should also be given respect

You answered your own question. Perhaps I am just dense but I don't see much love in your answer.

As I have read through the New Testament I was always struck with the fact that Jesus showed great compassion for the lost. Have you noticed that too?

Oh well.

Bright Blessings.

Spent a lot of time with people who said that. They had all once been Catholics. They never explained convincingly to me that theywere right. I don't know why they are like that. Seems to me that over the years Catholics have killed enough innocent people to be right up there withthe prodestants.

Study Bible prophecy. Study the 4th beast of Daniel 7, and the first beast of Revelation 13.

Look at all the identifying marks, and see who they identify. I don't like calling peoples faith false religion, but its the Bible friends.
