I agree with Matt. You really can't go wrong with a Kodak. They're easy to use, they have great lenses and the images really pop. This page shows all of the curent models with reviews for some of them: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Kodak/
This site has a ton of in-depth reviews: http://www.steves-digicams.com/hardware_reviews.html

I have a Kodak Easy Share C300. The zoom is horrible. If you try to zoom just a little the picture comes out all grainy and stuff. Also I dropped it on my kitchen floor last week and now it will not do anything. I contacted Kodak to get it repaired and dropping is not covered in warranty and they want to charge me $70 plus S & H to repair it. So I do not recommend the C300 Digital camera. Others possibly might be good though.

I have the kodak easy share system with printer dock. I like it for family pictures and casual poses. The quality is good on the print. I wouldn't use it for professional use but great for capturing memories
